Thomas proposed to me two days before our tenth anniversary. He always knew that it had to happen on a
beach and that we had to be in the sea.
We were on holiday in Corfu, Greece at a beautiful luxury resort. One evening, we had booked the Greek
restaurant down on the beach for dinner and we were lucky enough to have a golf cart that would take us
straight to the front door at the press of a button. But instead of pressing that button, Thomas
insisted that we pre-book the cart to make sure we wouldn't be late. My alarm bells were ringing. When
we eventually got the cart, there was someone else in it! It was the woman from the 'special arrangements'
desk. We were silent the whole five minute journey. When we arrived the woman walked quickly in front of
us as Thomas suggested that we walk on the beach first. I could see the woman talking to a man with a
camera and was not so subtly pointing at us. As we started walking along, the man began to follow us. My
thoughts were: are we in trouble? Or am I getting engaged?
After walking for a while, Thomas stopped me (to look at the view). A second later, he was on one knee
asking me to marry him with a ring that had been on my pintrest for years! Obviously, I said yes.
But that wasn't all... after the ring was on the correct finger and the photographer came closer. Thomas
suggested that we celebrate in the sea. If you know me, this was a big deal. We jumped in, splashed
around and kicked the waves all whilst dress smartly for dinner.
The night is not over there. After we put dry clothes on and had an amazing meal, we went back to our
hotel room which was filled with rose petals, champagne, candles and more food.
I'm one lucky girl.
